Part of Chinese New Year celebration is a reunion dinner with the family, always the most enjoyable meal! Our reunion dinner was pretty awesome, an array of home cooked food from each family.
My love for the dinner would have been my mum's pig trotter soup, as I don't get to have it any other day as it was the most time consuming dish to prepare. The dinner started with Chinese: 鱼生; pinyin: yúshēng. The whole family would gather together and toss yu sheng, the chinese claims this as a Prosperity Toss. The higher you toss the better luck it brings for year of Dragon. I had already received the first luck given to me for 2012, hope the toss would bring more prosperity and luck for my family.
